This Privacy Policy applies to the Defensive Thinking website and the PD Incident Reports and FD Incident Reports mobile applications. It describes the information that may be processed and the choices available to users.
01 / COLLECTION
Information We Collect
PD Incident Reports and FD Incident Reports do not collect or store personal report content on Defensive Thinking’s external servers. Report content entered by the user—including incident details, attached photos, department information, and signatures—is stored locally on the user’s device unless the user chooses to export or share it.
Third-party services may collect limited technical information, including app usage, crash and diagnostic data, device identifiers, purchase or subscription status, and advertising-related information used for free-tier ad delivery.

How Information Is Used
Limited technical information may be used to operate the applications, provide subscription-based feature access, display advertisements in a free version, monitor crashes and performance, and improve reliability, usability, and security.

Report Data
Incident reports, department settings, photographs, attachments, and signatures are intended to remain on the user’s device unless the user exports, shares, or emails that information. Defensive Thinking does not maintain a remote database of user-generated report content for PD Incident Reports or FD Incident Reports.

Third-Party Services
The applications may use third-party services for subscriptions, analytics, diagnostics, and advertising. These may include the Apple App Store and StoreKit, Google Play and associated SDKs, Google AdMob, and Firebase Analytics. These providers may process limited technical information according to their own privacy policies.
05 / WEBSITE ANALYTICS
Google Analytics
The Defensive Thinking website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand website traffic and improve the visitor experience. Google Analytics may process information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from an IP address, browser and device information, referral source, and interactions with outbound or contact links.
Defensive Thinking uses this information in aggregate to evaluate website performance and visitor interest. Google processes analytics information under its own privacy terms and data controls. Browser settings, extensions, or Google’s available opt-out tools may be used to limit analytics collection.
07 / USER CONTROL
Your Controls
Users may delete reports, attachments, and app data directly from their device. Removing an application may also remove locally stored data, subject to the device’s backup and storage settings. Users control whether locally stored report content is exported, shared, or emailed.

PD Incident Reports and FD Incident Reports are intended for professional public-safety use and are not directed to children.
